Sit back, headphones on, chill...

lyrics

Have you ever noticed?
You know, watching the rain... it breathes.

Not like we do, but there’s a sort of earth breathing... long and slow... and crying. I mean, that’s obvious... but it’s like a really long sigh, and if we sit there, watching and listening, we can be part of it. Maybe even sort of merge with it, you know, breathe with the earth.

I watch the drops, they’ve come all the way down from up there. Not looking for anything, just... falling, landing and splashing into smaller drops... running all over the pace, till there’s nowhere left to run.

It’s beautiful though, I mean, not like flowers sort of beautiful. I guess it’s a bit depressing if you think it’s like flowers beautiful, or warm sunny mornings beautiful. But it’s a smell, and a sound, and wet... I don’t like getting wet... not in the rain wet at least. It’s an emotion, kinda raw but comforting at the same time, like a blanket.

We need rain, rainy days... not just for the plants. It’s for our souls, our hearts to sort of welcome some sort of relief, where it’s OK to be nothing more than just part of the rain, and the trickling down into the earth.

It does breathe, in it’s own way.
